I have previously tried and loved the Tommee Tippee brand for their bottles and pumps, however, I did not know they had a baby sleepwear range. When I found this out and saw Newbornbaby was offering the chance for mums to trial and review The Original Grobag, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity… And I am so glad I didn’t!
First Look
Upon first look, The Original Grobag range has a great variety of cute patterns and colours, but first touch… my gosh, luxury! Unbelievably soft! After getting my little one, Hannah, in hers I had envy that I couldn’t go out and get myself one!
The Grobags are made with bamboo-rich fabric and their signature ALOEKIND™ lining, a unique cotton blend infused with naturally soothing Aloe Vera which is kind to sensitive skin. Yes, I pulled that snip from the description on the website, but that’s because I honestly can’t give justice in words to the beautiful, soft & cozy feel of the material.
The double zip is a huge winner for me – it’s like when a dress (for adults) comes with pockets, and someone says I like your dress, your first response is always “it has pockets”… it’s mind-blowing! And it’s the exact same with baby clothing, double zip!? HUGE WINNER and I need to tell everyone!
Effectiveness
We were having so much trouble getting Hannah’s night sleeping temperature right since she moved out of our room. Tommee Tippee The Original Grobag website description stated that 85% of babies sleep better in their bags. They also mention that their sleep bags helped little ones regulate their temperature while sleeping by ensuring there are no loose blankets for them to kick off – more sleep for baby and you.
I was skeptical at first, but it really worked. The TOG ratings with the what to wear guide made it so much easier! Her first night in The Original Grobag, she wore a thin long sleeve onesie leotard underneath and slept through the night, only waking once for a feed! It was the first time in months. I was blown away! Not too hot & sweaty, not too cold & fidgety, it was just right. I was in shock, how was it that easy!? Wish it hadn’t taken me until now to find it!
Affordability
When on unpaid maternity leave, you are definitely a lot more cautious with money spending, and while the Tommee Tippee Original Grobag isn’t the cheapest on the market, it is definitely worth the investment. You can’t put a price tag on good sleep for you and bub. It makes everyone happier!
Outcomes/Benefits
The double zip is a must for all things baby in my opinion! Yes, I am mentioning the zippers again…. I can’t get enough of them. Tommee Tippee The Original Grobag has a dual zip, which makes nappy changes at night a breeze. No disturbances on the top half, keeping bub all warm and cozy and simply unzipping from the bottom, change nappy and resettle. Easy!
Another benefit is the amount of space and shape of the lower leg part of the sleeping bag. My little munchkin is a wiggler and tosses and turns in her sleep. Tommee Tippee’s The Original Grobag is designed with babies in mind who like to move about and sleep with their legs in all their weird and wonderful positions. It helps with my peace of mind when I know Hannah can get comfy and remain safe! All that added with the knowledge that all the products are safety tested and approved and adhere to British and European Safety Standards, it’s a no brainer, really!
Recommendations
I would definitely recommend the Tommee Tippee The Original Grobag for all mums. We love ours! It is a must, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
