The Ergobaby OMNI 360 has raised the bar for carriers and has made me a convert! IT’S AMAZING!
When my baby girl was a few weeks old she refused to be put down so I dragged my sleep-deprived self to the baby store and picked a carrier. The sales assistant explained one brand was easier to put on and the other was more comfortable but difficult to put on alone. Can you guess which one this sleep-deprived new mum went with?
After using the OMNI 360 I told anyone who would listen how comfortable, easy and life-changing the carrier was. That’s what we mums are great at; if something works we will shout it from the rooftops to make sure all mums can join in.
The carrier is made from 100% premium cotton and is machine washable because we’ve all spilled coffee on our prams and carriers at some point.
Useful features:
The Ergobaby OMNI 360 is suitable for babies and toddlers weighing between 3.2-15kg and allows parents to carry their little one in all positions from newborn to toddler.
There is no need for a separately sold newborn insert to accommodate for newborns in the OMNI 360 as it includes an easy to use adjustable tab velcro seat. When I say easy, I mean it! All you need to do is select the corresponding velcro patches to your baby’s age.
The inclusion of lumbar support takes comfort to the next level! The carrier I purchased based on ease of use in my sleep-deprived state made me waddle like I was 40 weeks pregnant and would become uncomfortable after 10 minutes of walking. Carrying my four-month-old baby girl in the OMNI 360 makes her feel as light as a feather. I can walk for hours without needing to stop and stretch my back.
The OMNI 360 now comes with easy-to-reach buckles on the front of the carrier to make life a lot easier, especially when you’re trying to bundle a crying baby into the carrier.
The only down side to this welcomed addition is the buckles can be slightly hard to release. Once you master squeezing the buttons and lifting the tab on the buckle with one hand you’ll feel a lot less awkward and the process of removing your baby from the carrier will become a lot more efficient.
I’ve always been envious of people who had an Ergobaby carrier as they didn’t have to hold their hand up to shield their baby from the sun. The tuck-away baby hood is one of my favourite and most used features of the carrier. Its also perfect for privacy while breast feeding your baby.
Improvements:
Ergobaby has introduced a pouch to the OMNI 360, which is large enough to fit an iPhone 7 Plus and a large set of keys. However, I found the placement of the pouch extremely awkward and difficult to access. The pouch sits between your baby’s legs at the front of the carrier and once filled with a phone and keys it can get in the way of your baby’s legs as well as yours. The pouch is also hard to unzip because of the position, perhaps if there were a way of incorporating it higher on the carrier it would be easier to access.
Overall review:
The Ergobaby OMNI 360 combines comfort, practicability and safety to truly raise the bar for carriers and I am now a convert.
