Katie Wilkie, Positive Psychology Coach

Kate Wilkie is a Positive Psychology Coach.  She loves using the science of Positive Psychology to help Mums navigate the tough times and move towards flourishing.

Having a baby is the one of the most significant life changing events you will ever experience. Research shows it causes emotional distress in nearly 50% of new parents. When this distress is persistent and disabling, it can reach levels of clinical depression, known as Postnatal Depression (PND). PND affects around 16% of women giving birth in Australia. Left untreated, 25% of women remain depressed after one year (*).

Kate believes that it is vitally important to recognise emotional distress and take positive action to increase your level of immediate wellbeing and overall mental health.  Taking action will help you build ongoing resilience to these risks and boost both your wellbeing and the overall wellbeing of your family.

Positive Psychology Coaching focuses on solutions, proactive strategies and the character and performance strengths of each individual.  Kate’s coaching and writing are guided by up to date research in the fields of Coaching Psychology and Positive Psychology.

Kate holds a Master of Science (Coaching Psychology) from Sydney University and is a Professional Member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), and an Affiliate Member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP).
