The Braun ThermoScan 5 is a step above many of the other thermometers I have used. We currently own and use 2 other Body and Forehead brand thermometers, and I don’t particularly find them to have an accurate temperature reading as the Braun ThermoScan 5.

With the probe tip on the ThermoScan 5, I have found that you get a much more accurate reading of temperature which is very important with a sick little one. My son River, usually hates the probe tip of thermometers going into his ears, especially as they are in his ear for longer as they take a few more seconds to show the reading. He definitely prefers this one as the temperature display comes up almost instantly. I love how it is gentle enough to use on babies, children and adults.

It’s easy to use, especially straight out of the box thermometer, batteries & lens filters. The last thing you need is to be running around looking for batteries or a lens filters when you desperately need to use it. By far the best feature is the quick temperature display. This is exactly what you need when trying to get a temperature reading of your sick little one.

• Battery run, for easy travel
• Easy to change batteries, with AA batteries which are easy to find
• Convenient night light as a lot of the time the use is at night

Improvements:

The only improvement I can see is with the lens filters that are used with this product. I have found it hard to find a retail outlet to purchase lens filters for this particular model, as they are bought separately. It also becomes costly as you can’t use the thermometer without the lens filter.

Overall review:

Overall I love this product. I love the easy to read screen, the disposable lens filters to ensure each use it is clean and the nifty protective/travel case. I also particularly like that while River doesn’t particularly like the probe tip going into his ear, it doesn’t bother him so much, as it’s gentle enough.

Ultimately the ease of use which is what you want & need when you are checking for a temperature on your sick little one. I will most definitely be recommending the Braun ThermoScan 5 to my friends and family.
