Medela Original Soother – Mum Review by Rebekah

In the early days of our breastfeeding journey, bubs was not able to latch on her own. We went through a process of using a nipple shield and Hannah still wasn’t able to latch directly and I almost gave up. This was the point we turned towards the Medela soothers. She took to it instantly and practiced sucking at it most of her little waking moments.

Effectiveness

Hannah and I had a lot of trouble early on with our breastfeeding journey, stay with me – this is relevant… She wouldn’t or couldn’t latch on her own, so we spoke to one of the lactation consultants at the hospital and she recommended the Medela breast shield to assist us. After working together, we managed to create our breastfeeding process with the help of the Medela breast shield. After 8 weeks of solid shield feeding, Hannah still wasn’t able to latch directly and we were near giving up…. This was the point we turned towards the Medela soothers. She took to it instantly and practiced sucking at most of her little waking moments.

I would recommend the Original Medela Soother to other mums. I have nothing but good things to say about a wide variety of items in the Medela range and the Original soothers are no different. It has saved my sanity and my baby girl is so much calmer!
