I have gone through a few different brands to find the right skincare combination for my little girl, particularly since she started having eczema flare-ups. I was really excited to have the opportunity to trial and review the GAIA Natural Baby Skincare Range and see how it worked for my bub.

First Look

When the bottles arrived my eyes were instantly drawn to some of my favourite skincare phrases – “for sensitive skin” and “natural & organic”. Already, I was enthusiastic! The bottles themselves were easy to use, with a pump for the moisturiser and flick-up lids for the bath products.

Effectiveness

I feel quite protective of my bub’s tiny little locks. I use the Baby Shampoo every couple of nights and love the smooth lather it builds. The shampoo is designed to moisturise the scalp and protect the natural oils. I am delighted to say that she has not had any dry patches on her scalp since we started with it. I also love the soft fuzz of her hair just after it has dried!

The Sleeptime Bath Wash is hands down my favourite product. As soon as I squeeze it in and run the water, the calming lavender scent is immediately evident. The aroma is soothing and helps in setting the tone for winding down at the end of the day. The bath wash leaves her skin soft and clean, and an extra squirt at the start provides a bit of bubbly entertainment.

The Baby Moisturiser comes out at least twice a day in our house. While we have needed a medicated ointment for my girls’ eczema, I make sure to protect her skin and lock in moisture. In the morning I use it to do a quick touch-up on dry spots, and we do baby massage in the evening which continues the bedtime routine.

Outcomes/benefits

I’m happy to say that all three of these products are part of my little girl’s everyday skincare routine. We are free of dry patches on her scalp, and her skin is so soft and beautiful from her bath wash and moisturiser. With a wriggly, drooly little girl who is always on the go, I have been so happy with how this ties our bedtime routine and evening wind down together. The moisturiser also takes off the dryness and harshness of her drool rash while her teeth come through. The entire range smells beautiful and is lovely to use. The final tick from me is for the company, with GAIA being Australian owned and made by a mum who has been through it all.
