As a first time mum of a 4 month old girl, I was given the Braun ThermoScan 7 Ear Thermometer to trial. She is currently teething, so I like to keep an eye on her temperature to ensure she hasn’t got a fever.
First look
Like all first time mums, I wanted a thermometer that was as accurate as possible. The Braun ThermoScan 7 is used in the ear and is proven more accurate than forehead ones.
It was easy to set up. You just turn it on and it’s ready to go. The thermometer case houses extra protective ear covers to protect your child from germs, which is great.
Effectiveness
Using the Braun ThermoScan 7 Ear Thermometer is super easy, one press of a button and it’s ready to go, I placed it gently in my daughter’s ear and it brilliantly uses a light and beep to confirm I had it in the proper position and I had a reading in seconds. So brilliant!
The Braun ThermoScan 7 Ear Thermometer has a pre-warming tip that minimises the cooling effect in my daughter’s ear which also stops the shock of something cold in going in her ear canal.
The age-smart technology is clever- it gives a more accurate temperature for her age. It was easy to use, once I set it for her age range, it stores it in the memory for the next time.
The device comes with spare protective covers for the tip, which is great especially using while bub’s is sick, as well as it protecting the thermometer’s accuracy. You can also release the cover straight in the bin with one push of a button, so you don’t have to handle it.
Ease of Use/benefits
The Braun ThermoScan 7 has a memory recall of the last 9 temperatures so I can keep track of my daughter’s temperature going up or down. I like this feature because it takes away the added stress of monitoring so I can just focus on caring for my daughter.
It was gentle to use in my little ones ear and gave accurate readings every time and in seconds. I found the age smart colour coded display great as I could change the age to interpret my temperature as well and it would give the same colour code so I know if I needed to be concerned or not for myself or my daughter.
Another feature I liked is the night light so you can use the thermometer in the dark when your child is sleeping, so no need to turn on the light to wake baby up allowing them to get back to sleep making it an even better product!
It also has a storage cradle so it can be neatly packed, and never lost.
Recommendation
I would definitely recommend Braun ThermoScan 7 Ear Thermometer to any mum wanting an accurate and fast way to get your child’s temperature to care for them quickly.
