I was excited to receive the Tommee Tippee Sangenic Nappy bin and put to the test. With 8 month old twins, some days feel like I spend half my day changing nappies from sun up to sun down! Walking out to the wheelie bin multiple times a day can be such a pain especially for those early morning trips when I’m still in my pj’s!
Useful features
With twin babies and a 3-year-old, my day is jam packed including twice the amount of nappy changes.
During my busy day fiddling around with a nappy sack can be such a pain but the nappy bin has made disposing of them so simple and easy with 1 step and the nappies and their germs are sealed away.
All the nappies I change add up at the end of the day, the way the Nappy bin twists and wraps the nappies blocking out oudour means I don’t need to make multiple trips to the wheelie bin and I can even dispose of the nappy within arm’s reach of the change table.
Thanks to the bins large capacity of around 28 nappies, means even with twins, I don’t need to empty it too often!
The nappy bin wraps each nappy individually meaning no cross contaminating by touching old nappies previously put into the bin and with the added protection of anti-bacterial film killing germs, using the nappy bin is clean and safe to use even in the case a certain 3 year old find it fun to help too.
Improvements
If I were to improve it in any way it would be to have a warning indicator on the bags to let you know once you are coming to the end of the roll. As the bin became fuller I kept thinking every nappy change would be the last of the roll but it wasn’t so some form of indicator would be great.
Also as the bin became fuller it did give off a slight odour, nothing too unpleasant but maybe some inbuilt air freshener could combat this or perhaps it was just due to the double up on nappies when you have twins.
Recommendations
Having used the Tommee Tippee Sangenic Nappy Bin, it’s a great product and convenient addition to nappy change times. It’s simple to use and not an unsightly feature to have in the home. The nappy bin helps make one of the not so pleasant jobs as a parent a little more pleasant.
