The ErgoPouch is well designed; it has a convenient two way zipper, which makes a quick nappy change in the middle of the night easy. It is so much easier to slip my tired baby into his ErgoPouch than have to struggle to wrap him in a traditional muslin wrap, especially after a late feed when all I want to do is crawl back into bed and fall asleep. Bubs is simply fed, burped, changed and tucked back into bed without any fuss or delays. No trying to rewrap your baby in the semi-darkness in the middle of the night.

The ErgoPouch is made of organic cotton this means I can trust to be chemical free and know that it is gentle on my baby’s delicate skin. We live in the Tropics and having a product which is light and breathable is a priority so the Summer/Spring ErgoPouch is perfect for our summer lifestyle and would suit any baby as the weather begins to warm up. It was a cute addition to be sent a room thermometer with the pouch recommending which Pouch would suit the current temperature range, showing how much the company cares that you have the right pouch to suit the needs of your baby. The ErgoPouch is well made and not only washes well but is quick to dry which means it is practical for busy mums.

Useful features:

I could not find any con’s for the ErgoPouch, only Pro’s. It washes well, dries quickly. I especially liked the transition to arms out Sleeping Bag; the ErgoPouch has patented poppers in the armholes which can be used to transition baby from swaddling to sleeping bag. My baby is just starting to roll and whilst he still likes to sleep with his arms swaddled in I loved the ease of transitioning him without having to purchase a new transition cocoon or sleeping bag. I can gently get him used to sleeping without the aid of having his arms swaddled too. I also appreciated the top of the zipper being covered in to ensure that my baby will not be irritated by the zip when it is done up. I like the fact that the cacoon has been acknowledged by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as Hip Healthy. It is fantastic having a swaddling pouch that allows babies to wiggle about comfortably without getting their arms free and having to rewrap them as you have to when you use a traditional swaddle. My baby slept well all night without being woken up by his startle reflex.

Improvements:

The only improvement that I would suggest would be to have the top of the bag a bit wider before it tapers down. My son likes to sleep with his arms up and whilst the cocoon supports his startle reflex, it would be good to have just a little more room. He was a little frustrated at not being able to move his arms as much as he would like to.

Overall review:

I would definitely recommend the ErgoPouch to other mums and dads as being a very useful addition for their babies. I am going to make sure that I have at least 2 so that when one is being washed I can be using the other one.

If it was slightly wider at the top allowing baby to sleep with his arms up I would have given it a 5 out of 5. I love the ErgoPouch and my baby loves it, as soon as he was tucked into his cocoon he relaxed, snuggled into a comfortable position and fell into sweet sleep.

I would give this product 4.5 out of 5.
