What The New Paid Parental Leave Scheme Means To You

Australia now has a parental leave scheme which will make a difference for you and your family. If you are eligible you will enjoy the benefits of paid maternity leave through Australia’s Paid parental Leave scheme such as receiving taxable Paid Parental Leave payments at the level of the Federal Minimum Wage, currently $570 per week, for a maximum period of 18 weeks. You can also take it at any time in the first year after birth and you can have it before, during or after any other employer benefits you might have, such as paid maternity leave, long service leave or annual leave.
