Grieving Mother Thanks Best & Less Employee After the Loss of Her Baby

Grieving mother thanks Best & Less employee after the loss of her baby. The employee showed great kindness to a customer when she came in to return baby clothes because her baby had died in her womb.

Jacinta Masters was on her way to hospital to give birth to her son, who had died in her womb and wanted to return some of the clothes she had bought for him. She was told that a refund couldn’t be given because she didn’t have the original credit card that had been used to pay for the clothes.

Jacinta broke down and explained to the cashier that she was on her way to the hospital to be induced and give birth to her son, who had died in utero. The cashier deferred to her manager, who immediately overrode the company policy and issued her with a full refund.

The kind and thoughtful shop assistant then asked if she had a blanket to wrap her baby in when he was born. Answering ‘no’, she led her in to the blanket section of the shop and told her to choose a blanket and take it with her.

The Best and Less shop assistant covered the cost of the blanket out of her own pocket.

Jacinta posted this open letter on her Facebook page, to thank the kind shop assistant:

“This is an open letter to Jo, the beautiful lady who served me at Best and Less this morning. You didn’t know me. But I came in to best and less this morning, to return some special suits I brought for my baby I was carrying.

I was told I couldn’t return them because I didn’t have the bank card with me that I used to purchase. And I broke down and explained I didn’t have it, and I was on my way to hospital to be induced to have my baby who had passed away, and I wanted them returned now because I don’t want to see them or deal with them when I get home.

And in the split second that I said that, I seen the sincerity in your face. You got your manager to over ride that policy to give me my refund. You then asked me if I had a blanket to wrap him in. I didn’t. It was one of the things I had to buy that morning.

You came and gave me a big hug and let me cry on your shoulder. You then took me to the blanket section and helped me pick out a blanket. Blue mink with white clouds on it.
It was perfect.

At the check out, I tried to pay for it. But you turned my money away and covered it out of your own pocket. I cried some more. And told you, you are such an angel. I was lost for words. I didn’t know how to thank you!! I cried all the way to the hospital. I sat out the front of the hospital for 15 mins, just crying and clutching my baby’s blanket.

I don’t know you, and sadly I don’t even know your name. But I want you to know how thankful I am to have met you and thankful for what you did for me and my little Sammy. I just want you to know, it brought so much comfort cuddling his blanket through the contractions, and then wrapping him in it when he was born.

And I’ll never EVER forget what you did for me and my baby.
You truly are an angel and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!”
